Modular Typeface
The challenge for the AIGA Flagler College Design Week 2023 poster was to create a visually engaging sixteen by twenty-inch design for art and design students. The title, “Legacy,” reflects the institution’s branding, fostering a connection between students and alumni. The modular typeface, featuring gemstone motifs, and the serif Gimlet Text were chosen to establish typographic hierarchy. On the front, a vector graphic of Henry Flagler’s face is centered, flanked by mirrored capital D and W, evoking a playing card motif that hints at additional vital information on the reverse side.
